Oakmont Connections Program
Life at Oakmont is meant to be full of vitality, joy, and purpose. Our team is continually striving to offer a palate of activities that both resonate with and engage seniors physically, intellectually and socially. Our enthusiastic team helps residents structure their time to that every day is full of engaging activities and meaningful social connection with others.
Regular physical activity is important to the physical and mental health of everyone, and seniors often need encouragement and reassurance to participate. Exercise opportunities include:
– Strength & Stretch
– Walking Club
We also encourage participation in our Brain Fitness classes to sharpen mental acuity and exercise memory. Types of Brain Fitness activities include:
– Trivia Games
– Art Classes
– Discussions on Current Events
Residents may also participate in purposeful activities such as caring for animals or assembling care packages for service men and women. Social engagements are integral to the Oakmont community. We offer singing, happy hour, and weekly excursions. Sew residents often experience an improvement in both physical and mental conditions, in addition to a renewed sense of belonging and community.
Traditions Memory Care
Traditions Memory Care is centered around memory care principles that draw on the safe and familiar. When residents can successfully navigate a familiar environment, self-esteem is enhanced and anxiety decreases. The physical surroundings at Villagio are designed to aid residents with orientation and navigational landmarks to help them navigate their community.
The second focus of our Traditions Memory Care program is based on engagement based design. Common areas include indoor and outdoor areas for residents to enjoy as they wish. Areas for small group activities are also scattered throughout the neighborhood. Residents may also enjoy music, art, or engaging in activities designed to stimulate conversation and memories about times in their past.
Our compassionate and caring team brings it all together. Our care providers are hand-selected for their skills, previous experience, and passion for working with the elderly. A licensed, full-time nurse oversees the Traditions Program and care providers are available 24 hours a day. All team members and care providers participate in specialized dementia education, training, and routine evaluations.
